In addition, Dr. Wong completed his fellowship with the American Academy Of Optometry and has over ten years of advanced practice in orthokeratology, specialty multifocal soft and RGP contact lens fits as well as laser and disease co-management in private group practice. From 1994-2009, Dr. Wong has founded and managed vision care centres in ON (Mississauga) and BC (Burnaby, Richmond, Vancouver, North Vancouver).

As a former Maritimer from Halifax, Dr. Wong has a love for beaches, mountains, real estate, as well as paddling, cycling, and hiking, which eventually landed him in BC in ‘95 where he now calls Deep Cove home. Drs. Wong and Shum are blessed to have a son in pre-school and daughter in Grade 1 which keeps family life very busy outside of work. Both children have accompanied Mom and Dad on various humanitarian eye care missions through North Africa, Central America, and into many small towns throughout Mexico. Each one of these missions have provided positively charged, life-impacting experiences to Dr. Wong's practice of optometry by changing the lives of many of those that he has helped. A new project starting Fall 2010 will see Dr. Wong providing volunteer eye care services to the homeless on the North Shore to allow him to realize his passion of providing the best eye care for patients in need, both locally and globally, in hopes of changing more lives to enable all to “see a better tomorrow.” Over the course of his 16 years of professional practice, Dr. Wong has also been compassionate in giving back through community volunteer work, donations in support of various charities, and most recently, through sponsorship of a young girl in India.

As a member of the team at burnabyvision care centre and beautifulEyes in the Cove Optometry, Dr. Wong is available to provide solutions for all your clinical eye care needs.
